Chart plus update

It has been a while since the end of the Canva hackathon. I am happy that the idea I am working on has put me on the winning list and pushed me through the marketplace release.

Since then, I have been in an endless loop of reviews with the Canva marketplace team. All for trying to fix the tiniest imperfections. All for giving the users the best experience – not just using my app, but how the app fits into their whole ecosystem. True respect for the attention to detail in every little thing.

It takes 10 versions of refinement with the Canva team just to get it release. Here is the proof:

Anyway, the app is already released in the marketplace. Is called “Chart Plus” or you can just use this link.

There are some advanced and fancy charts that you can use for Free to level up your presentation with data and facts. Give it a shot, give me some feedback, or anything else. Or can share the issue in my official issue link here.

Happy to listen to your feedback, and make this better than the original chart elements. 😛

Marketplace update

Since the first release, I am honestly impressed with the daily usage growth. It just wow beyond my expectation. Steady straight-line growth.

Why it works?

I think is NOT the effect of my work, but rather the way Canva has managed to build their ecosystem to make it easy for the user to use their app. This includes the way how they enforcing us to follow their design guideline before you actually get the approval to release.

The ease of user installing and seamlessly just works out of the box got the highest respect from me.

At Canva, we’ve seen that the key to gaining viral user adoption is to build products with incredibly simple onboarding and delightful user experiences. This means that minimizing authentication and paywall friction is essential.

Meaning to say, all the app you see in the marketplace, they at least provide enough free functionality for the users to try. I think the rational behind is to help the user to freely try the app without thinking about the consequense, eg. the price, and just focus on exploring the app.
